Clothing maker IZOD is set to become the new title sponsor of the IndyCar Series, according to reports. The 'smart casual' brand is expected to be confirmed as the name associated with the championship in a new conference at Indianapolis on Thursday.
With IZOD all set to begin its alliance with the series, this weekend's meeting at the Motor Speedway is believed to be confirming the deal, for which estimates place figures at $10m (£6.8m) per annum.
Although Autoweek reports that financial information is not expected to be made public, the deal is predicted to last for five years; the pact would mark the championship's first title sponsor since 2002, when internet search engine Northern Light departed.
