Wheldon to stay with Panther in 2010

27 October 2009

2005 Champion Dan Wheldon has confirmed that he will remain at Panther Racing next year, despite suffering a frustrating campaign which saw him finish tenth overall in 2009 as the second-best British driver after Justin Wilson.

Having won the Indianapolis 500 in his title-winning season, 31-year-old Wheldon showed that he has not lost his touch by coming home in the runner-up spot this year, one of three podium finishes over the course of the campaign.

Although the statistics of this season may not make for fantastic reading, Buckinghamshire's Wheldon is still the fourth-highest placed driver in the current field for race wins.
