Former Champ Car driver Robert Doornbos will not finish the season with Newman Haas Lanigan. The Dutchman had a deal with the team for just 12 races and the both of them decided not to continue with each other after a disappointing debut for Doornbos in the Indycar Series.
Doornbos' best result in the IndyCar series was a ninth position at Richmond. Speaking about his departure Robert Doornbos said at his official website: "We had the option to leave the team after 12 races which I made use of. I want to stay in IndyCar Series and I will announce my future plans very soon. I like to thank the team and especially Mike Lanigan and Carl Haas. I wish them a bright future."
