Antinucci extends deal with 3G

07 July 2009

The 3G team has announced that Richard Antinucci will be remaining in the car for another two rounds of this year's championship. After being drafted in at Watkins Glen, the 28-year-old has now also been confirmed for the two Canadian rounds at Toronto and Edmonton.

With a two-race extended deal possibly becoming a long-term partnership in due course, Antinucci looks a likely candidate to drive the team's sole car - previously piloted by Stanton Barrett and Jaques Lazier - for the rest of the season.

"This is a young team made up of very experienced guys who are just as passionate about competing as I am," said Antinucci, who drove a strong race last weekend before being hampered by damaged suspension after contact with a wall.

"We are working hard to hopefully build a long-term programme together. I would love to keep driving for these guys."
