Power to return in Toronto

03 July 2009

The Penske team has announced that Will Power will return to the cockpit at the first Canadian round of the championship in Toronto next weekend. The Australian, who deputised for Helio Castroneves at the start of the season, will drive for the team for five races.

After scoring sixth in St. Petersburg and second at Long Beach, Will Power has been absent for the last six races and will remain so at Watkins Glen this weekend although the team has now revealed that the 28-year-old will make a return at Round 10.

"I am really looking forward to getting back on the track and driving for Penske Racing," he said after learning of the news that he would be joining Castroneves and Ryan Briscoe. "I have learned so much working with everyone in the team this season and I plan to make the most of this opportunity."

"Will has done a terrific job for Penske Racing and has earned the opportunity to compete in more races," team owner Roger Penske commented. "He is a great asset to the team."
